Things To Consider

Many people like to have arrangements in place for their burial long before it seems a reality.  The decision to pay for a burial plot lease may be motivated by ‘getting my finances in order’ as we age, or by being very clear about  how one wants to be laid to rest.  There are cost benefits in planning ahead as the price of a 99-year lease at the time of purchase will never change, even if it is decades before the plot is used.

Reserving A Plot

Plots are available in all sections of the cemetery. Pre-payment is an option and is suggested, especially when adjacent plots are desired. On receipt of payment for a plot, the person who has taken out the lease, whether it is for themselves of a loved one, will receive the lease, along with the conditions that go with the lease.

Plaques & Headstones

Plaques are standardised across the cemetery. The cost of plaques are included in the price of the plot lease. Additional lines, embellishments and ceramic photos are additional costs. Headstones must conform to standards provided and must be erected by an accredited stone mason with the approval of the Management Committee. Costs for military emblems and plaques may be paid by the RSL.

Cemetery Standards

Consistent with other cemetery standards, Old Noarlunga Cemetery reserves the right to remove loose objects and dead flowers from graves. From time to time volunteers tidy up the cemetery and any loose objects including glass bottles or vases, statues, and other memorabilia will be discarded.
